One of my favourite mid century modern designers is Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen. His iconic designs are still as beautiful today as they were then. His most famous pieces include the Ant Chair (1952), the AJ Floor and Desk Lamp (1957), the Series 7 Chair (1955), the Swan and Egg Chair (both 1958), the Mayor Sofa, the Tongue Chair, the clocks he designed and his Cylinda-Line tableware (1957). Most of these items were designed especially for buildings he designed - as well - like the Aarhus City Hall and the SAS Hotel in Copenhagen.
Design Letters recently decided to use the font he designed in 1937 on mugs, plates and tea towels. And &Tradition re-released the Mayor sofa! :) Shame it's so expensive..
